“My soul is also sore vexed.  It depresses its spiritual energies, quenches the ardors of devotion, darkens the prospect of faith and hope, produces slavish dread, creates an inaptitude to spiritual services and enjoyments, and acts, in  all respects upon the mind of a believer, as disease does upon the body.”  (Morison)

“My soul is greatly agitated. Rendered vexed in Ps. 6. 3.  There is no troubles like soul-troubles.  Sin will mar anything.  It will make any soul wretched.”  (Joseph  Addison Alexander, 1860)

Identified with sinful man was the very God.  He received the fatal stroke of Divine judgment.  Becoming sin for His people caused separation from His Father.  The Holy eyes of God were too pure to look upon what Jesus became (sin for us).  This resulted in abandonment by His Holy Father.  It was then that the Glory of Heaven cried, ‘Eli, Eli, lama sa-bach-tha-ni?’  My God, my God why hast thou forsaken me?  ‘Crucified, dead, and buried—such was the passion of God’s annointed.  (Isa. 53: 1-2; Matt. 26:57-68;  Isa 52. 14;  Matt.27: 27-31; & 33, 46).  (Author not noted)
